One of our many modes of transportation on this trip was by horse. In both Aswan and Luxor the carriage guys absolutely hound you for business. You could get an hour tour around the town for $1. Sadly, a lot of the horses are mistreated. This paticular evening we took the carriage to see a temple at night and when we were done our driver was nowhere to be found- turns out he was busy smoking the "sheesha" (just look at his smile!), a water pipe with a flavored tabacco that everyone seems to smoke in the Mid East. It actually smells really good when you walk by the sheesha cafes, like cotton candy. We will try eventually and let you know- it's a right of passage here. I guess since they're not supposed to be drinking they have found another way to have fun! :0
